N-Gage QD Settings for Orange WAP
This document describes how to set up your N-Gage QD game deck to use the WAP service via GPRS
on the UK mobile phone carrier Orange.
This process was known to work on 12th January 2008.
Prerequisites:
- You must have a GPRS capable cellular telephone, in this example you must have a Nokia N-Gage QD.
- You must have an Orange mobile phone account in the UK.
- You must have GPRS enabled on your account by Orange.
The Setup process:
- Go to the Main menu
- Go to Settings
- Go to Connection
- Go to Access points
- Press Options
- Select New Access Point
- Use default settings
- Under connection name type "Orange GPRS"
- Data bearer should be set to GPRS
- Access point name should be "orangewap"
- User name should be "None"
- Prompt password should be set to No
- Password should be "****"
- Authentication should be set to Normal
- Homepage should be "http://orangeworld.co.uk/"
- Gateway IP address should be 0.0.0.0
- Select Back
Go all the way back to the Main menu
- Find the Web application and load it, or hold down "0"
- Press Options
- Select Settings from the menu
- Default access point should be Orange GPRS
- Select Back
- Now click on one of the bookmarks in the list, try Orange GPRS which
should navigate directly to orangeworld.co.uk. A little G with a square around
it should appear in the top left, near the signal strength meter.
